Aurora survivors turn anniversary of shooting into their wedding day

Lead in text:
A year ago, Eugene Han and Kirstin Davis had a movie date transform into a nightmare when they were caught in the movie theater massacre in Aurora, Colo. Han heroically took two bullets in his hip and knee while shielding Davis, but soon after the shooting Han realized there were internal wounds no one could protect her from. Davis, once lively and carefree, became fearful and withdrawn. So to reclaim the day that had traumatized them both, when Han proposed to Davis in April, they decided to marry on the one-year anniversary of the shooting and transform the meaning of July 20 in their lives. As Han said, "We want to show other people you can make it a happier day."
