Meet Our Hosts
The Boot Shoppe
Cousin IT hosts The Boot Shoppe and strives to provide music lovers everywhere with the chance to hear music that you aren't supposed to be able to find at your local record store. The fare is mostly live recordings with a few commercially unissued studio gems that Cousin IT find interesting, amazing, and/or amusing. This show has collectors & casual fans alike marveling at the unique sounds of live music.
Cousin IT
Not much is known about this mysterious character who was given his moniker by Uncle Dave. When asked how he met Cousin IT, Dave said, "He just showed up one day with a stack of amazing tapes! I didn't ask too many questions. He kind of scared me, but those TAPES!!" Other facts we have ascertained include his first known appearance at a concert (age 7...the show?...Dr. Hook opened for Sha Na Na at the Roanoke Civic Center). When asked about his earliest memory of his love for music he offered this comment. "When I was 3 years old, I remember having the Doobie Brothers LP 'The Captain & Me' and throwing it down the stairwell like a frisbee. My appreciation for music & the media on which it resides has grown exponentially since then." He also said "Please tell all the tapers/traders that I said THANKS!! My life is better because of the work that you all carry on." These days Cousin IT can be seen at shows all around the southeast...that is, if you know what he looks like. We have also learned of an e-mail address (cousinit@mindless.com) where he can be reached. We must assure you that no matter what you may have heard, Cousin IT is completely harmless and can be trusted to behave in public places (especially when Live music is there). Cousin IT can be found in the Boot Shoppe following Dead Air, Thursdays 2am-4am.
