ARC Overnight

Sunday, Midnight - 5am; Monday-Wednesday, Midnight - 4am; Friday, 1am - 4am; Saturday, 1am - 5am

ARC stands for Alternative Radio Coalition, which an ambitious group of radio enthusiasts from Charlotte began in 1992. Their mission continues to this day with anchor host Rob Daves and an array of volunteers spinning a mix that embraces the commitment to diversity and depth heard during our weekday mix, only with a completely different set of artists and styles.

Interview with Jay Sanders

Sep 5, 2012

Hear Joe Kendrick's interview with Jay Sanders that was aired last night on ARC Overnight.

Twenty years ago, WNCW signed off the air at 2 a.m. each weekday before coming back on air at 6 a.m. in the morning. A group from Charlotte came over to Spindale and changed all that in the fall of 1992, bringing ARC Overnight to the airwaves and making WNCW a 24-hour station.

Join Joe Kendrick on ARC Overnight next Tuesday night, September 4th during Rob Daves' show.  He will interview Jay Sanders of Asheville's E. Normus Trio, upon the release of his new album of all-original jazz, Love & Barbiturates.

Joe Kendrick, Cathy and Keith Shockley

Keith and Cathy Shockley travel from Knoxville, TN, to volunteer for WNCW's late-night show, ARC Overnight. This is exceptional, but what makes their story even more memorable is that Keith is legally blind, and hosts the show with Cathy working alongside him as co-producer.
