SPINDALE (Feb. 29, 2012) - WNCW 88.7 will begin its spring membership drive this weekend.
The public radio station, a broadcast service of Isothermal Community College, will offer a wide variety of premiums this year to new and existing members who pledge their support when the drive begins Saturday evening, March 3, during “Saturday Night House Party” at 7pm. The drive will conclude on Saturday, March 10, at the end of the popular weekly bluegrass showcase, “Goin’ Across the Mountain.”
“We are looking forward to a great drive and have several wonderful things in store for our dedicated longtime members and the new ones who make the choice to step up financially to support the station they love to listen to,” said Dave Kester, the station’s director of Programming and Engineering Operations.
Topping the list of premiums are special packages of CDs put together by the staff out of the treasure trove of music generously donated to the station by the Music Shed in Columbus, which closed its doors recently.
“There are literally thousands of unique and rare recordings that the fine folks at the Music Shed donated to the station,” said Kester. “We are packaging those into special themed selections to be offered at various pledge levels. Tune in next week for all of the details.”
