Justin's 2014 release Single Mothers was certainly a favorite at WNCW. It was originally intended to be a double album, but during the course of sequencing and production, he decided the songs on this collection needed to make its own statement and take on a life of its own. Like fellow Americana favorite Jason Isbell, Justin has a lot of new-found clarity lately, thanks to sobriety and marriage. “One day I just realized it’s not cool to die young, and it’s even less cool to die after 30,” he says. We'll feature it Thursday night, perhaps with a little Isbell too, and of course his father Steve, who by the way has a new release coming soon as well, as does his stepmother Allison Moorer!
