When the L.A. band Dawes visited us last June for a Studio B session, they were already rather well established as torchbearers for the great Laurel Canyon/Southern California sound made famous in the 70's by the likes of Jackson Browne and The Eagles. Taylor Goldsmith and company have brought in some different sounds to this, their 3rd release, but it's definitely still the great songwriting and Americana-meets-rock foundation of Dawes (Goldsmith says much of the new material was inspired by Willie Nelson.) Tune in as it becomes the foundation of our Thursday night mix! And check out the video for "From a Window Seat" here.
