Practical Nursing Deadline Extended At Isothermal Community College

Nurse

SPINDALE (June 7, 2017) – The deadline to enter the Practical Nursing Education program at Isothermal Community College in the fall has been extended until Monday, July 10.

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are in demand, specifically, in rural areas such as Rutherford and Polk counties. To meet this need, the admission for entering the fall 2017 Isothermal Community College Practical Nursing program has been reopened and the last date to apply has been extended to Monday, July 10, 2017. The aim of this extension is to allow more prospective students to further their nursing career by becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Additionally, students who complete the three-semester LPN program (fall, spring, summer) will be eligible to apply to the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) FastTrack program through Isothermal’s Foothills Nursing Consortium (FNC) to complete their associate degree in nursing in only three additional semesters.

Students who wish to participate in the upcoming extended admission deadline for the LPN program must meet required admission criteria by 5 p.m. on Monday, July 10. If all prerequisites are met, prospective students will be invited to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) on Thursday, July 27, 2017. The TEAS test fee is $60. Students must score a 58 or higher on the test to enter the LPN program.

To help prepare for the exam, applicants may consider utilizing the TEAS Study Manual, 6th edition. Also, online practice tests may be available at: http://www.atitesting.com/ati_store/TEAS-Products.aspx
