Billy Edd Wheeler has written hit songs for an impressive list of country and folk singers, including Johnny Cash & June Carter, Chet Atkins, Elvis Presley, Bobby Bare, Glen Campbell, the Kingston Trio, and Judy Collins to name a few. A true "Appalachian renaissance man", he's also a playwright and a poet. He has just written an autobiography, Hotter Than a Pepper Sprout: A Hillbilly Poet's Journey From Appalachia to Yale to Writing Hits for Elvis, Johnny Cash & More, and gives a talk about it at his alma mater Warren Wilson College on Saturday, April 7th (4pm). Tune in as Martin Anderson talks with Mr. Wheeler about his many wild stories, and spins some of the hits he's penned.
