The Caldwell House in Lenoir is a half-way house for recovering alcoholics or drug addicts to stay in order to make the transition back into the community in a supportive environment without the temptations of falling back into the routines and life-style that led to the addiction.
Pam Bunch talks to the Director of The Caldwell House, Bob Laws and Evelyn Marshall, a member of the Board of Directors, about the work they do and how they have been able to do it with a good rate of success and without government financing. The Caldwell House is a rare and valuable resource for Lenoir, and an example of what is possible and needed in thousands of other communities across the country.
