One of the most tragic things that can ever happen is a child getting hurt through abuse of one type or another. Children are the victims of predators, members of their own family, people they trust or people they don't know. When times are rough a parent or parents take it out on the children.
But the news is not all bad. Wilkes County, NC has a place for children that have been abused to feel safe and to heal. Safe, Inc. of Wilkes County is there and ready to help, and, is about to earn accreditation as a child advocacy center.
