Morning Edition 11/21: CAROLINA MOUNTAIN LAND CONSERVANCY'S NEW PROGRAM TO GET FOLKS OUTSIDE
By Pam Bunch
The North Carolina Mountains are beautiful, but they're not just pretty to look at; they are incredible for anyone who wants to get outside and enjoy them. The Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy is a land trust that works in WNC - mainly in Henderson, Rutherford, Transylvania, Polk and Buncombe counties. The Conservancy has just released a new version of its popular program to get people out the house and outside exploring the lands that are being conserved. The program is called the White House Squirrel Hiking Challenge 2.0. Peter Barr will explain the program, the challenge, and how you can get more than just good exercise.
- An interview with Peter Barr of the Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy about the new White Squirrel Hiking Program.
