Morning Edition 10/30: Program Teaching Children to eat Nutritious Food Beginning in Preschool

Bronwen McCormick (center), new Director of the Rainbow in My Tummy Program, hard at work with two willing helpers.

Last year, Mountain Area Child and Family Center in Buncombe County developed a program that teaches pre-school children about the importance of eating nutritious food by showing them a wide variety of fresh or fresh frozen foods in all of the colors of the rainbow. The program is called 'Rainbow in My Tummy" and there have been some changes recently that will help to spread this successful program to more pre-school age children. I'll speak with Kelly Brandon and Bronwen McCormick about these exciting changes and what it can mean for improving the health of children of all ages.
