Daniel Lanois is best known for his impressive work as a producer for various big albums by U2, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, and others. These artists love his use of atmospheric sonics, vintage equipment, and unorthodox recording techniques, and the album that probably showcases his brilliance the most is his 1989 release Acadie. From the opening "Still Water" and "The Maker" to the beautiful closer of "Amazing Grace", Acadie is especially reminiscent of the work he did for Robbie Robertson and The Neville Brothers around this time. And, it came out within a month of WNCW's first month on the air! Help celebrate our 24th birthday Monday night at 8 with this pick of Joe Kendrick's.
