Monday Night March 23rd at 8pm: DAVID LINDLEY - El Rayo-X

The music of the 80's got off to a promising start with the debut release from this sideman/bandleader for Linda Ronstadt, Warren Zevon, Crosby & Nash, and particularly Jackson Browne. Fortunately for us, Elektra Records gave David Lindley a chance to shine in the spotlight, and he did not disappoint. Check out his arrangements on these different interpretations of tunes by Bobby Fuller, Smokey Robinson, Huey "Piano" Smith....you need to catch his version of the "Tu-Ber-Cu-Lucas and the Sinus Blues". His cover of "Mercury Blues" became an FM radio staple for a while, he added a reggae groove to "Bye Bye Love", he threw in some Middle Eastern and Zydeco influences, his slide guitar was the center of the sound-- some twists just not done beforehand. Celebrate Lindley's March 21st birthday with us on Monday night.
