Summer's here, and the time is right....for spinning one of the finest albums to come out of the Summer of Love: Love's 1967 masterpiece Forever Changes. While filled with flowing optimism and a technicolor spectrum of beauty like the vibe of the time, this album also somehow forecast the foreboding dark clouds that were gathering on the horizon of 1968: hard drug abuse, street violence, war, and the cynicism and fear that came with it. Somehow, songwriters Arthur Lee and Bryan MacLean seemed to see this coming, and brilliantly captured it all in this classic.
