45 years ago saw this debut of one of the most promising English singer-songwriters, though he only made three full-length albums before dying in 1974. And he went relatively unnoticed while alive, but he's gathered a veritable cult following since then --and yes it started well before his song "Pink Moon" showed up on that popular TV commercial. After being discovered at a rare live performance by a member of Fairport Convention, Drake won the support of producer Joe Boyd, and also got assistance from Fairport guitarist Richard Thompson and Pentangle bassist Danny Thompson (no relation) here.
