His legacy may not be as memorable as that of Coltrane, Rollins, or Young, but Hank Mobley's work as tenor saxophonist and bandleader was one of the most solid of the swing and bop eras of the 50's and 60's. After playing with Horace Silver, Dizzy Gillespie, and Max Roach among others, he started fronting his own tight quartet, as can be heard on this 1960 classic with Art Blakey on drums, Paul Chambers on bass, and Wynton Kelly on piano.
