We flash back 40 years this Monday night to one of 1974's biggest hits, Linda Rondstadt's multi-platinum album Heart Like a Wheel. Her California/Arizona folk roots can be heard here -- though make no mistake this was a mainstream pop/rock smash -- on memorable covers from the likes of Lowell George ("Willin'"), Hank Sr. ("I Can't Help It If I'm Still In Love With You"), J.D. Souther ("Faithless Love"), and the Everly Brothers ("When Will I Be Loved"). Ronstadt was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year; bittersweet recognition, as she has been suffering from Parkinson's disease the last few years. WNCW salutes her during her birthday this week.
