These two guitar masters got together for a surprise collaboration in 1977 -- Les had been in retirement for a decade or so -- with Nashville studio musicians that included Randy Goodrum on piano and Larrie Londin on drums. We keep it in our "Classic Country" section here at WNCW's music library, but it's really got as much swing as a jazz-oriented album, with standards like "Caravan", "Avalon", and "Deed I Do". It's got a wonderfully warm feel to it, and is as casual and informal as you can get for guys of this caliber; according to the liner notes, only two songs have any overdubs (I challenge you to find which ones!), with plenty of charming banter and joking between the two between songs and even during some of them.
