Monday Night the 29th at 8pm: JOHN HARTFORD - Mark Twang

December 30th is the anniversary of the birth of one of WNCW's favorite artists, John Hartford. We've spun his masterpieces Aero-Plain (1971) and Morning Bugle (1972) in past years for The Spindale Cycle; this time, how about this one from 1976. Mark Twang, as you might expect, centers all around riverboats, river men, and other features of Hartford's beloved Mississippi River. It is considered by some to be the pinnacle of his long artistic run (he recorded from 1967 through 2000). "Long Hot Summer Days", "The Julia Belle Swain", "Little Cabin Home on the Hill Waugh Waugh", and you can't leave out the all-important public service announcement of his, "Don't Leave Your Records in the Sun."
