Monday Night the 22nd at 8pm -- PHIL OCHS - I Ain't Marching Anymore

The story of Phil Ochs, and the stories he sang about, are tragic indeed. And yet, he had a way of covering some pretty heavy material in a manner that not only made sense of the chaos and injustice he saw around him, but sometimes made us laugh about it all. Born on December 19th 1940, Ochs quickly became one of the premier folk singers of Greenwich Village following his successful 1964 debut, All The News That's Fit to Sing. This followup to that was even stronger, and stands the test of time. 50 years later, some of the subject matter of which he sang is still strikingly relevant, as you will hear in songs like "In the Heat of the Summer", "Links On the Chain", "The Men Behind the Guns", and "Here's To the State of Mississippi".
