You can take the boogie-woogie pianist/singer out of Mississippi....but why would you want to take the Mississippi out of her? Eden Brent's got a forthcoming album, Jigsaw Heart, which was recorded at Ben Folds' studio in Nashville (the historic RCA Studio A), but is soaked in the sultry blues and soul of her roots. With tributes to Joan Armatrading, Toni Price, and our own Nina Simone, it's a great new collection, and Joe Kendrick will welcome her to WNCW for a live Spoonful of Blues! She plays Hecht Fest in Charlotte May 30th.
