WNCW's Friday Feature interview from June 13th featured Minister Carolyn Reed-Smith, who talked about the significance of Juneteenth. This Spartanburg, S.C., resident talked about how the date of June 18 was monumental in our country's history, as a day slavery would come to an end. Reed-Smith also discussed Spartanburg's Juneteenth Celebration that took place over several days as a way for all races to come together in recognition of this occasion. The event involved the participation of numerous religious groups and the City of Spartanburg.
