During this WNCW Friday Feature of the Week from Sept. 11, Patricia Payne was special guest. Patricia dated Merle Watson years ago before his tragic death. Merle of course is the son of the legendary Doc Watson (also now deceased) and whom Merlefest is named after. Patricia continued a close bond with Doc and even other members of the family, that continues today. She wrote a short documentary, "A Blue Ridge Love Story - A Documentary of My Days with Merle."
