Comedian & Musician STEVE MARTIN With Joe Kendrick [AUDIO]

Steve Martin and Martin Short

WNCW’s Joe Kendrick talked with legendary comedian, actor and musician Steve Martin about his show in Charlotte with Martin Short, the Steep Canyon Rangers and Jeff Babko titled “An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Lives.” Steve and the Steep Canyon Rangers have another record coming out this year, and Steve let us know before anyone else what the title will be. Plus, he gave a little advice on being funny. The interview originally aired Thursday, April 20, at 8:51 am during Morning Edition on WNCW 88.7 FM and online at wncw.org.

Joe Kendrick grew up far off in the woods in rural Stanfield, NC, where he acquired his first Sony Walkman, listened to both AM and FM radio from Charlotte, went to Nascar races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, attended a small Baptist church, read Rolling Stone, subscribed to cassette clubs, and played one very forgettable season of high school football. From there, Joe studied Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was able to fulfill his dream of being a disc jockey at WXYC. He volunteered at WNCW soon after graduation.
