Laura Blackley is a writer, musician, and artisan farmer living in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. She hosts and produces two shows for WNCW--Local Color, which spotlights music from throughout WNCW's listening area, and Southern Sirens, celebrating the formidable contributions made by southern women, past and present, to the world of music. Dennis was born in Boiling Springs NC, raised in the #1 Township (home of Junie and near Horace and Earl Scruggs) he comes from a family musical background and grew up with Bluegrass and Country & Western as the soundtrack surrounded by the artists who made it. He’s worked in professional audio engineering for 30+ years with companies providing production support worldwide to the biggest acts in the business.
Joe Kendrick was born in Jacksonville, Florida while his father was in the Navy, but has lived all but the first two years of his life in North Carolina. His formative years were spent far off in the woods at his family's home in rural Stanfield, NC. Joe studied Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, where he was able to fulfill his dream of being a disc jockey at WXYC, and hasn't left the airwaves since, volunteering at WNCW soon after graduation.
