Peaks & Valleys: A Life in Music Friday, January 12 - 8:00 p.m.- Bob Hinkle’s “Peaks and Valleys: A Life in Music”. True stories from the music world. $10 advance/ $12 door. Bob Hinkle’s current role as owner, manager and emcee at the White Horse Black Mountain is just the most recent adventure in a career that spans more that fifty year in the American popular music business. He’ll recount some of his experiences in his one-man show “Peaks and Valleys: A Life in Music.” His stories are true anecdotes populated by some of the biggest names in music, gleaned from Bob’s years as a performer, manager, and A&R man based in New York. Over the years, Hinkle’s management clients included Harry and Tom Chapin, Etta James, the J Geils Band, the young Olsen Twins, Kim Carnes, Kenny Rogers, Manfred Mann, Patti LuPone and more. He was involved in the career breakthroughs for Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Band, circa “Music from Big Pink.” He also founded Zoom Express, a company devoted to developing talent aimed at children and families, and subsequently ran his own New York consulting firm, BMG. Not surprisingly, Bob has insider tales to tell about the famous, notable and notorious. His stories are by turns startling, humorous and touching, and the cast of characters is hard to beat.
