Morning Edition 11/30: WNCAP COMMEMORATE WORLD AIDS DAY

Only one day a year is called World Aids Day, but until this disease is eradicated, perhaps every day should be World Aids Day. For now, that's not going to happen. However, the Western North Carolina Aids Project has been commemorating World Aids Day for a week, and activities will continue through December 3.  This week I spoke with Pam Seikman about what WNCAP is doing to mark this saddest of days for  people all over the world. Tune in to see what you can do to help  fight this cruel disease.

Morning Edition 11/21: CAROLINA MOUNTAIN LAND CONSERVANCY'S NEW PROGRAM TO GET FOLKS OUTSIDE

The North Carolina Mountains are beautiful, but they're not just pretty to look at; they are incredible for anyone who wants to get outside and enjoy them. The Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy is a land trust that works in WNC - mainly in Henderson, Rutherford, Transylvania, Polk and Buncombe counties. The Conservancy has just released a new version of its popular program to get people out the house and outside exploring the lands that are being conserved. The program is called the White House Squirrel Hiking Challenge 2.0.

WNCW talks to Debbie Bedford, the Rutherford County Elections Director. This election year has caused more problems than even the 2008 election of President Barak Obama. Bedford explains why this year's election is far from over here in North Carolina, and the process that comes next to determine if re-counts will be necessary in the Lt.Governor's race, as well as a couple of others.
